Perilla Knox & Hildebrandt LLP (PKH) is pleased to announce that Joel Bradley has joined the firm as a Senior Associate. Joel joins PKH from Eversheds Sutherland, where he practiced for nearly a decade.

Joel is a registered patent attorney whose practice focuses on electrical, mechanical, and software technologies. He represents clients ranging from Fortune 100 companies and emerging growth businesses to universities and individual inventors in all aspects of patent preparation, prosecution, portfolio strategy, and IP transactions. His experience spans artificial intelligence and machine learning, autonomous and electric vehicle technologies, networking standards including Wi-Fi and cellular, semiconductors, blockchain systems, video encoding and decoding, power systems, HVAC technologies, medical devices, routing algorithms, and consumer electronics.

Joel regularly manages patent matters from drafting through issuance and works closely with in-house counsel on global portfolio development. In addition to prosecution, Joel advises clients on freedom-to-operate analyses, patentability assessments, non-infringement and infringement opinions, M&A due diligence, and the negotiation of license and joint development agreements.

Joel brings valuable in-house experience through his secondments at Meta Platforms, Inc. and Ford Motor Company. At Meta, he served in a full-time product counsel role supporting engineering teams developing Metaverse technologies. At Ford, he worked as a part-time secondee focusing on agreements for third-party collaborations. These roles provide him with practical insight into the business and operational needs of technology companies.

Joel earned his J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law and his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and in Georgia.
