Unofficial 2024 INTA Atlanta Guide by PKH LLP

(Last Updated July 17, 2023)

In May 2023, the International Trademark Association (INTA) announced that the 2024 annual meeting will be held in Atlanta, Georgia.

We may be biased, but Atlanta is a vibrant capital city, known for its rich history, diverse culture, and southern charm. This travel guide will provide you with essential information and recommendations to make the most of your visit during the 2024 conference in Atlanta. Check back in as we will continue to refine and update the travel guide.

Atlanta is home to several prominent corporations representing various industries. The Coca-Cola Company, an iconic beverage brand, has its headquarters in Atlanta, contributing to the city's identity as a global business hub. Delta Air Lines, one of the world's largest airlines, also calls Atlanta its headquarters, making Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport a major aviation hub. Home Depot, a leading home improvement retailer, was founded in Atlanta and has grown to become a key player in the industry. Additionally, UPS, a global logistics and package delivery company, has a significant presence in Atlanta, operating a major hub at the city's airport.

Enjoy your conference and we hope you come to love Atlanta as much as we do!

1 - TRANSPORTATION

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Named the busiest airport in the world, it offers excellent connectivity to various destinations around the world. It also boasts a new international terminal, over ten lounges, and extensive food offerings. Consider taking a taxi, ridesharing service, or public transportation to reach your accommodation. The rideshare pickup at Hartsfield-Jackson is a partially outdoor 5-7 minute walk from the baggage claim. The domestic terminal of the airport includes a train station that will get you to various business centers, such as Downtown, Midtown, and Buckhead, assuming your destination is a short walk away from a station.

Fun fact: Hartsfield-Jackson is built on the former Atlanta Speedway racetrack built by former Coca-Cola founder Asa Candler.

Peachtree Center MARTA Station in Downtown Atlanta

Subway/MARTA. The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority[AN1] , or MARTA, provides convenient access to major attractions and downtown areas. Consider using MARTA trains or buses for affordable and reliable transportation. The reach of the subway is limited, so rideshare may be the most viable option for transportation. However, MARTA’s Gold and Red lines terminate at the Airport station directly in Hartsfield-Jackson, making getting to and from the airport an easy trip.

To access the Georgia World Congress Center, exit at the Peachtree Center station on the Gold or Red line, or the GWCC/CNN Center station on the Blue or Green line.

Taxis and Rideshares. Traditional taxis are now a rare sight in Atlanta.  Most locals and visitors use Uber or Lyft ridesharing services to get around town. For short distances within the city center, electric bikes and electric scooters are available for rent using a mobile application, such as Bird, Lime, and other like services.

2 - ACCOMODATION

Downtown Atlanta. Staying in the downtown area offers proximity to the conference venue, dining options, and popular attractions like Centennial Olympic Park and Georgia Aquarium. However, most locals would agree that Downtown Atlanta is pretty quiet after the close of business.  Also, any travel to Buckhead or other northern areas of Atlanta would be longer if you stay in Downtown.  We suggest considering Midtown for a more central location while still being a quick subway ride or rideshare away from the conference center.
