The law firm of Perilla Knox & Hildebrandt LLP is pleased to announce that three new attorneys have joined the firm.

Jed Rollins

Jedidiah (“Jed”) Rollins is an Associate at PKH and member of the firm’s mechanical and electrical patent practice group.  Jed centers his practice on intellectual property law, with an emphasis on practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Jed’s practice is focused on the preparation and prosecution of domestic and foreign patent applications in a range of technical fields.  Jed has experience related to classical and quantum computing, machine learning and artificial intelligence, blockchain technologies, data analytics and management systems, telecommunications, integrated circuits and semiconductor processing, electromechanical devices, and other technologies.

Outside of the legal world, Jed brings extensive experience working in engineering and management capacities on projects for Fortune 500 companies in the energy industry.

Joe Staley

Joseph (“Joe”) Staley is Partner and member of the firm’s litigation practice group.  Joe is experienced with all aspects of intellectual property litigation, including patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, and various other intellectual property disputes.  Joe also provides counsel to clients on patent and trademark prosecution matters, licensing, counterfeiting, due diligence, clearance issues, and developing corporate IP strategies.

Before joining PKH, Joe was the Vice President of Legal for Atlanta-based Kids II Inc.  With Joe’s extensive experience in managing the legal affairs of a global company, he is adept at handling complex intellectual property litigation matters in the US and various jurisdictions around the world.  Joe was also a partner at another intellectual property boutique law firm in Atlanta and worked at the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a patent examiner.

Andrea Nguyen

Andrea Nguyen is an Associate and member of the firm’s litigation practice group.  Andrea's main practice areas focus on patent, trademark, and trade dress litigation. Andrea’s practice also includes trademark prosecution and copyrights.  She has represented clients across various industries and has been involved in several patent and trademark actions in district courts and arbitration proceedings.  Andrea has assisted clients with Opposition proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Andrea also provides legal opinions regarding patentability, infringement, and freedom to operate. Her practice also includes trademark prosecution, copyrights, and other transactional intellectual property support as well.

Prior to entering private practice, Andrea was in-house patent counsel for a consumer products company in Atlanta, where she focused on mechanical patent prosecution and infringement analysis.

Jed’s undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, as well as that of Joe, compliments the experience of other firm members and expands the firm’s depth in engineering disciplines.  Similarly, Andrea’s undergraduate and graduate degrees in biotechnology and biomedical science also complement that of other firm members.  Additionally, Joe and Andrea’s focus on and experience with litigation and dispute resolution expand and enhance the capabilities of the firm.

“We are thrilled to work with Jed, Joe, and Andrea at PKH,” said Jason Perilla, one of the firm’s founding members.  “The addition of these new team members significantly increases our depth of practice experience, as well as our overall capacity to serve existing and future clients with their legal work,” said Perilla.  “Jed, Joe, and Andrea share in our vision to provide the very best in legal services under our new firm platform, which is tailored to suit the business needs of our clients,” said Kenny Knox, another one of the firm’s founding members.  “Our overall aim is to more closely align the business needs of our clients to the IP-related legal services we provide, and these new team members share in and are committed to that effort,” said Thomas Hildebrandt.

All attorneys at PKH are registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and have engineering or science degrees.
